About Amanda
Hello! I'm Amanda, a licensed Doctor of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) in Boise, Idaho. I help individuals and couples heal from the past, and find peace in the present. I am happy to be in Boise to invest in our community's healing! I grew up here and care deeply for the Treasure Valley.
I help my clients grow in self-compassion, connection, and self-worth through short-term, solution-focused therapy, or more in-depth psychodynamic therapy. Some people choose to continue on the growth journey after resolving their initial goals. When I’m not in the office, I am probably painting, reading a memoir, or finding adventure somewhere.
Integrative Therapy
I primarily work from person-centered, psychodynamic, emotion-focused theories, though I integrate many approaches depending on the work I do with each person. This means I pay significant attention to both past experiences, as well as what is happening in the present. Clients are invited to come as they are to session, with as much vulnerability as they feel safe.
My training and experience is in attachment healing, psychodynamic, Emotion-focused, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior therapies, complex trauma-informed treatment, EMDR, and object-relations. Maintaining cultural humility and curiosity is my goal, and I work to integrate the diverse values and intersectional identities of each of my clients. I know that my clients are equally and uniquely as strong as I am (sometimes we just have to find it together)!
